Main film: ‘Through a Gorilla’s Eyes’ (Running Time 40 mins)
This unique, critically-acclaimed film, personally presented and narrated by Anthony Browne, has already inspired thousands across the world in schools, training colleges and anywhere that the wonder of children’s literature is enjoyed. In the company of two young interviewers, the work and life of possibly the world’s greatest living picture book creator is poignantly portrayed as we discover a man whose warmth, humour and humility is as watchable as is the brilliance of his inimitable talent as artist and author.
School Visit 1: (Running time 20 mins)
Anthony reads and discusses his book ‘Gorilla’ and answers questions on all aspects of his life and work with students from King’s School, Canterbury.
School Visit 2: (Running Time 20 mins)
Anthony visits his local village school where his own children once attended, and in their old classroom spends a fascinating morning with a very enthusiastic class of pupils playing the Shape Game, (his earliest artistic inspiration) and reading and analysing some of his books, in particular, Voices In the Park and Changes.
