‘THROUGH A GORILLA’S EYES’
Anthony Browne needs no introduction to schools. Possibly the most feted author/illustrator of his generation, he has won both the Kate Greenaway prize, twice, and the much-coveted Hans Christian Andersen Award in 2000. His Willy books are recognised and loved by readers young and old across the globe, whilst, in the academic world, his work has been discussed, analysed and written about for over two decades.

What the author says about the film...
Anthony Browne: "Making the video was a great experience working with such bright interviewers as Ruarie and April, and it’s a great way to communicate with children and teachers in schools I’ll never be able to visit."
Reviews...
Jo Carpenter, Hyde Park School, Mutley Plymouth. ‘Thank you, thank you, thank you Children’s Authors TV for the brilliant video! It arrived yesterday and I watched it straight away. What a lovely man Anthony Browne is and how wonderful of him to put on the dressing gown for the children! A very special moment. Also the Teachers Notes are a very thorough and appropriate collection of suggestions/ ideas for follow up to work related to the DVD. As a KS1 teacher I was very pleased and excited by the cross-curricular approach, particularly with the obvious close relationship between Anthony Browne's work and the SEAL programme (Social and Emotional Aspects of Learning) Fabulous! I know that the children in our school are going to become equally enthused and excited by this work - what a great start to a new academic year and a great Book Week!’

My Year 3 Class thought that the Anthony
Browne DVD was fantastic! It answered all their questions.
We were going to watch it in short blocks but they wanted it all
all in one go! Anthony Browne came across brilliantly. The class
gave the DVD 10/10 and said they would highly recommend it
to not only Anthony Browne fans but everyone else too!
Here’s a few of their comments....
"Brilliant, we learned lots about Anthony Browne."
"Very interesting, full of facts."
The best information DVD I've ever seen!"
"Well done for making such a fantastic DVD!"
Thanks for an excellent learning resource, it made our author's topic a pleasure.

"I was delighted to receive the Anthony Browne DVD order so promptly given the
fact I was ordering over the internet from Australia! The DVD format is personable
and engaging with children providing Anthony the vehicle to guide the conversations. The Teacher Notes are invaluable; the activities provided can be
tailor-made to suit from 8 year old to 12 year old students (primary)."
Patricia Le Baudrier, Nyoiseau, FRANCE. I just love the wonderful Anthony Browne film! Now I am planning to make worry dolls with the children at school.
I loved the part when Anthony refers to his father. Obviously, writers and authors
are people who have not sent their own childhood to the land of Oblivion!

“Apologies for not writing right away after receiving the DVD which arrived early last week in perfect condition. Congratulations on a super piece of work! I found the contents wisely chosen and carefully arranged. I couldn´t get over the aplomb of those two young interviewers. They are great! What I enjoy most about the film is the very natural way Anthony comes across while talking to the viewers and the children and talking about his experiences and work. He seems such a friendly person and so easy to reach. After watching the film I only wish I lived nearer Kent to invite him over for a chat and cuppa (or a glass of good Argentine wine if he were agreeable to it!) Many thanks for the delight the DVD has given me.”
